Liberia elected Open Govt Partnership Chairman

(elbcradio.com/July 29, 2015)-Liberia has been elected Chairman of the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

The OGP is the African Governments’ Points of Contact Forum. Liberia was elected Chair of the Forum at the end of an OGP meeting in South Africa.

Deputy Information Minister for Administration, Andrew Tehmeh, represented Liberia at the Forum which ended July 24, 2015. The African Focal Points to the OPG Forum comprise of Ghana, Liberia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Tanzania.

The Forum also elected host, South Africa, as C0-Chair. The Focal Points to the Forum noted: “For Africa to be successful in implementing the partnership, it needs to be united.
