(elbcradio.com/July 29, 2015)-The Liberian Government has praised the huge representation of foreign diplomats at the country’s 168th Independence Day Celebrations in Grand Kru and Sinoe Counties.

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf described the diplomatic presence at the programs as the most outsized she has ever seen at any given program in the country.

President Johnson-Sirleaf expressed optimism that the huge diplomatic presence at the program will help strengthen relations between Liberia and, countries and institutions in attendance.

Among diplomats at the Independence Celebration in Greenville and Barclayville include the United States of America, Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Cameroon and La Cote D’Ivoire Ambassadors accredited to Liberia.

Others are the Country Representatives of the World and African Development Banks, among other international institutions.

Meanwhile, over 30 Heads of State and Government, regional and international organizations sent messages of congratulations to the Liberian Government and people as they celebrated the country’s 168th Independence Anniversary.

The Liberian Leader thanked local authorities, religious leaders, the media and citizens of both counties for making the celebrations a success.

President Johnson-Sirleaf is, however, urging citizens of Grand Gedeh, River Gee and Maryland Counties to begin preparations for the hosting of the 169th Independence Day Celebration in 2016.
