(elbcradio.com/July 31, 2015)-At least 25 Nigerian teachers are expected in the country to boost ongoing local teacher recruitment to improve the education system.

Education Minister, George Werner, said the Liberian Government will engage the African Union (AU) to contribute more teachers as the American Peace Corps Volunteers were now returning home.

Minister Werner also said the Education Ministry will consider providing teachers’ accommodation and other remunerations to enable them take-up assignments in rural Liberia.

He made the statement recently when he spoke to reporters in Monrovia.

“The C Certificate program for teachers will be terminated soon, because such level of teachers may not be needed in the system,” the Liberian Education Minister emphasized.

At the same time, Minister Werner says President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf will meet with the Leadership of the National Legislature to finalize ongoing consultations on the Education Reform processes.
