(elbcradio.com/July 30, 2015)-Liberia Football Association (LFA) President, Musa Bility, says current UEFA President, Michael Platini, is not an acceptable choice for the FIFA Presidency.

Platini announced recently he would stand in the 2016 FIFA elections, but Mr. Bility said the world has asked for football and that current football managers be changed.

The LFA President said Mr. Platini, a FIFA Vice President for eight years, would not represent the change being desired globally.

The BBC quotes the Liberian FA Boss as having expressed strong opposition to Platini’s bid to replace Mr. Blatter as FIFA President.

He also said his stance against Platini’s pending presidential run is based on the European Football Association (EUROFA) President being a part of the current system that Mr. Blatter led.

Prince Ali Ben Al-Hussein, who may decide to stand in the election, has also voiced his concern over Platini’s candidacy, saying: “FIFA needs new and independent leadership, untainted by the practice of the past.

I am 100% in agreement with Prince Al-Hussein, emphasizing that he wants to break Europe’s long-term hold on football’s top job, Mr. Bility also noted.

Since the formation of FIFA, there have been eight presidents, seven of whom are Europeans, he recalled.

The Liberian FA Boss further noted that in the 21st Century, Europe has to understand that the rest of the world deserves to head football world governing body, FIFA.

Messrs Bility, Platini and former Brazilian striker, Zico, are the three, so far, who have announced their candidacy for the February 26 FIFA presidential elections.
