(eolbcradio.com/August 3, 2015)-Montserrado County District Number 16 Representative, Edward Ford, is claiming US$20-million as compensatory and consequential damages from two medical-related institutions in Liberia.

The two institutions at the center of Representative Ford’s US$20-million damage claims are Liberia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Government-owned John F. Kennedy (JFK) Memorial Hospital in Monrovia.

He is claiming   the amount from the ministry and the hospital for their alleged negligence that led to the death of his daughter, Nakita Ford, in September 2014.
Miss Ford died at the JFK Hospital during the height of the Ebola crisis in Liberia.

Representative Ford filed a lawsuit with the Civil Law Court Friday, July 31, 2015 to seek due process to compel the full legal representations of the two government functionaries to show cause why they cannot be held liable for the crime allegedly committed.

Up to press time, it is not known when the first legal proceeding will commence in the spirit of speedy, impartial and transparent justice.
