(elbcradio.com/August 3, 2015)-A Liberian research NGO, Platform for Dialogue and Peace in Liberia (P4DP) has begun investigating traditional herbalists’ role during the Ebola outbreak in the country.

The Group’s Executive Director, James Shilue, said: “The study is a pilot project for health in humanitarian crisis and will help modify the work of traditional healers in the country.”

Mr. Shilue said the exercise will take place in nine counties and will involve traditionalists of various backgrounds.

He said two facilitators will be drawn from each of the selected counties to work closely along with recognized traditional healers.

The selection of Facilitators will be based on recommendation from their communities, the Platform for Dialogue and Peace in Liberia Executive Director said.

Facilitators to be selected will include Spiritualists, and Zoes, as well as individual Sande and Poro authorities.
