(elbcradio.com/August 3, 2015)-Dozens of Lepers in Gbarnga are appealing to Central Government and humanitarian organizations to assist them in the renovation of their home.

Gbarnga is the provincial Capital of Bong County in Central Liberia. The Lepers want their compound renovated and improvement in their living condition.

Their Spokesman, Steve Kennedy, said: “We want to draw attention to our plight for possible consideration as a national emergency issue.”

The Lepers have, meanwhile, threatened to stage a protest, if the deplorable condition of their home is not attended to.

They said their pending action would include stopping all medical activities at the Phebe Hospital.

It can be recalled the Lepers stormed the home of Bong County Chief Medical Officer, Sampson Arzu-Akoi, in July, 2015 for reportedly halting their home’s renovation.
A local humanitarian group had reportedly planned to renovate the facilities for the Lepers.
