Eight persons die in tragic motor accident in Liberia

(elbcradio.com/August 6, 2015)-The Management of the National Transit Authority (NTA) has expressed regret over the death of six persons as a result of tragic motor accident.

The accident, involving an NTA/TATA Buses, occurred Wednesday, August 5, 2015 along the Monrovia-Gbarnga High Way.

The NTA Management identified the crew on board the bus as the Driver, Robert Lamine, Conductor, Saymon Janleah, and 68 passengers, including women and children.

The NTA Transit Management said police investigation was ongoing to establish the cause of the accident.

It has meanwhile announced that the Phebe Hospital in Bong County has discharged 30 commuters who suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.

The NTA Bus, with license plate number 5138 left the Monrovia-Red-light District and was heading to Ganta in Nimba County.

While in route, it lost control and somersaulted three times before landing into a valley near a town called Zeanzue in Bong County.

According to police Spokesman, Sam Collins, the death toll has risen to eight.

Colonel Collins gave the up-date on the death toll Thursday when he spoke to elbconline in Paynesville via mobile phone.
