(elbcradio.com/August 11, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has praised the European Union (EU) for its continuous contribution to Liberia’s recovery efforts.

An Executive Mansion release says, President Johnson-Sirleaf made the commendation at the weekend when she dedicated a modern cassava processing center in the Clay Ashland town of Kormah in Montserrado County.

At the same time, the Liberian Leader also thanked the people of Kormah Town for their support to the country’s agricultural sector.

She also thanked them for complementing government’s efforts to ensure enough food availability on the Liberian market at an affordable price.

The President made particular mention of the resilience and determination of the Kormah Town people for raising over two million Liberian Dollars (L$2-million) through village savings.

She encouraged them to help maintain the strong relations between the European Union and Liberia.

Responding, the Head of Cooperation at the European Union, Stefan Ellero, reiterated the EU’s commitment to Liberia’s development.

Mr. Ellero then thanked President Johnson-Sirleaf for creating an enabling environment, noting: “Such successful project needs to be implemented in different communities across Liberia.”
