(elbcradio.com/Aug. 19, 2015)-Members of the Bong County Christian Association (BOCA) have gathered at the Gbarnga Administration Building to celebrate Ebola free Society.

They gave praises to God for eradicating the Ebola virus disease from Liberia.

Following the prayer at the weekend, BOCA President and Pastor of the Chief Compound Assembly of God Church, Jacob Samway, said the prayer was in recognition of God’s blessings upon the nation in the fight against Ebola.

Rev. Samway said: “Though Liberia has made significant strides in the fight against Ebola, Christians in the county also prayed for neighboring Guinea and Sierra Leone to overcome the disease.”

At the program, BOCA honored the Chairman of the Psychosocial Committee of the Bong County Ebola Response Taskforce, Victor Padmore, Bong County Health Officer, Sampson Azuakoi, and Bong County Superintendent, Selena Mappy, for their leadership roles in fighting the Ebola virus.

Others include the Executive Director of Education Development
Network Liberia, Dorothy Tooman, the Liberian National Red Cross/Bong County Chapter, Radio Gbarnga and Super Bongese Radio.

It can be recalled that Christians from across Bong County in June 2014 launched a massive campaign to sensitize church members and community residents to join the Government and partners in the fight against Ebola.

BOCA also partnered with the County Ebola Response Taskforce to establish the psychosocial committee that is also partnered with the World Food Program (WFP) to distribute food ration to Ebola-affected communities around the county.
