Three High Schools awarded at National Flag Day

(elbcradio.com/Aug. 24, 2015)-The Education Ministry has awarded various cash prizes to three of the twenty high schools that participated in the 2015 National Flag Day observance.

The three high schools are the Garrison W. Gibson (popularly called G. W. Gibson), Cathedral and Saint Theresa Convent.

G. W. Gibson High was awarded US$600.00 for exhibiting the BEST “Eyes Right,” US$400.00 awarded to Cathedral High for the BEST “Drill” and Saint Theresa Convent High received US$200.00 for being the BEST “Dressed School.”

Announcing the awards, Deputy Education Minister for Planning, Research and Development, Anthony Nimely, said: “The prizes are intended to motivate the participation of schools in the annual event of the National Flag Day.”

The three schools were awarded the prizes Monday, August 24, 2015 during the indoor program held at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion on Ashmun Street in Monrovia.-
