LWSC begins sanitation facilities in Grand Gedeh County

(elbcradio.com/Aug. 28, 2015)-The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has begun constructing sanitation facilities in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.

The project is valued over US$190,000.00.

At the ground breaking ceremony, LWSC Managing Director, Charles Allen, said: “The facility, when completed, will supply safe- drinking water to over 27,000 residents in Zwedru City and environs.”

The Project, being funded by the African Development Bank (ADB), is expected to be completed in six month period.

Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation Boss, however, noted that a series of measures are underway to build the capacity of future mangers of the corporation.

Dr. Allen named the measures as training of students at various institutions of higher learning across Liberia.

The ADB sanitation project is expected to be extended to four other counties, including Montserrado, Nimba, Margibi and Grand Bassa.
