(elbcradio.com/Aug.31, 2015)-One of Liberia’s FIFA badge referees, Isaac Montgomery, has been slapped with a three month suspension by the Liberia Football Referees Association (LIFRA).

According to a report, Mr. Montgomery was suspended by LIFRA for act of “disorderly conduct” he exhibited during a recent LIFRA meeting.

A source told this station that the decision was reached, following Montgomery’s refusal to apologize to the association’s leadership for his outburst during the meeting.

Referee Montgomery has not reacted to his suspension decision as yet. The ban will see Montgomery missed out on international and local assignments during the three month period.

He has been one of Liberia’s best referees on the local and international scenes in recent times, but recently came under strong criticism from some football followers and players for the manner in which he handled his first three local league matches.

Montgomery is on record for being the first referee to issue five red cards in a single match during the first phase of the 2015 football season.

In that game, he issued four red cards to BYC and one to IE at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Central Monrovia. Earlier, during his first match in the 2015 season, he flashed out three red cards in the Nimba United vs.

Watanga FC match.Referee Montgomery had his car tires deflated by angry football fans after BYC’s 1-0 defeat to Watanga FC earlier this month.

The match was officiated by Chris Nylander and not Isaac Montgomery, but surprisingly he became the victim of what many described as planned grudge.
