(elbcradio.com/Sept. 3, 2015)-The bodies of 10 Ugandan soldiers, killed in Somalia by militant Islamist group al-Shabab, have been flown home.

A total of 12 Ugandan soldiers were killed on an African Union base in southern Somalia in a raid carried out Tuesday, September 1, 2015 by the militants.
But Al-Shabab said it killed 70 AU troops.

Army spokesman, Paddy Ankunda, told the BBC the attack was a "game changer," and al-Shabab should expect an "appropriate response.

Ugandan troops are part of a twenty-two thousand-strong AU force battling the militants. In the Ugandan army's first comment on the raid, Col Ankunda said they will not relent in their efforts to help in the pacification of Somalia, despite the attack.

He did not give details of the other two Ugandan soldiers killed in the raid.
