(elbcradio.com/Sept. 15, 2015)-Liberian Women have honored President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Vice President  Joseph Boakai.

President Johnson-Sirleaf and VP Boakai were honored for their outstanding leadership role played in the fight against Ebola.

An Executive Mansion release says the honor was bestowed on the Liberian Leader and her vice recently during a special program held in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

The Women of Liberia were represented by the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Julia Duncan Cassell.

Minister Cassell said the program was designed to recognize the leadership role played by President Johnson-Sirleaf and VP Boakai in the Ebola fight in Liberia and the sub region.

She said: “The pair stood firm and took charge of the situation when it was predicted by the World Health Organization (WHO) that 20,000 people would have been killed by pandemic in the country.”

“The President rejected the prediction and took affirmative action through her leadership to remedy the situation,” Madam Cassel added
