(elbcradio.com/Sept. 17, 2015)-Youth and Sports Minister, Eugene Nagbe, has denied claims by the Liberia Amputee Soccer Association that the Government plans to prosecute the amputee team upon its return home.

The team allegedly used government funds to travel to the United States to participate in a tournament already canceled before the team left Liberia.

Minister Nagbe told the voice of America Africa (V.O.A.) Service Monday, September 14, 2015: “The Liberia Amputee Soccer Association has committed no crime here, or in America.”

He also said: “They got their visas to travel and entered America legally. There is no writ out for anybody’s arrest.”
According to the Youth and Sports Minister, the Government continues to encourage the amputees to return to Liberia, because returning home is better than loitering in America.
