LISCR FC, Nimba United draws in Playoff Final

( 21, 2015)-LISCR FC and Nimba United played to a scoreless draw Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.

The match was the first leg of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) first Division Play off finals.
LISCR FC and Nimba United are playing the finals at the ATS on home basis.

The former played in the first leg at home, while the latter will played in the second leg at home, as well.
Nimba United had the opportunity to win the first leg, but Adetus Evanouyer wasted that opportunity when he saw his penalty save by Tommy Sango on the stroke of half time.

Besides saving the penalty, Sango was at his best denying Adetus on several occasions to keep LISCR on term with United.

The two clubs will return at the ATS on Thursday to decide on which team becomes the 2015 LFA National First Division League Champions.
The coaches of both teams expressed satisfaction over the performances of their respective teams and are now looking up to Thursday’s fixture.

LISCR FC Coach, Cooper Sarnor, and Nimba United Head Coach, Korvah Kollie, praised goalkeeper, Tommy Sango, for his outstanding performance in the game.

In the second division final, Mighty Dragon FC of Bong County defeated ELWA United 2-0 to brighten their hope of winning the division title.

Daddy Forkpa gave Dragons the lead in the 39th minute and Morris Dukuly sealed the win in the 90th minute with the Dragons’ second goal.
Dragon will be crowned Champions Thursday, if they should avoid defeat in the second leg.

Coach Jackson Tackiweah told news men that he was happy reaching the team to the first division.On Saturday, two first leg relegation playoff matches took place with wins for Holders FC in the second division and Keitrace FC in the first division.

Keitrace FC defeated Monrovia Club Breweries 2-0, while Holders whipped Mighty Blue Angels on the same goal line.
Mighty Barrolle will fight for survivor in the second division when they faced Joy Conquerors in Tuesday’s rescheduled relegation playoff at the ATS.
