(, 2015 2015)-The Chinese run-Lonpeng Tech-Demonstration Center has been reopened to the Liberian Government after months of closure by the Chinese government.

The demonstration center was established in 2008 with subsequent operation in 2011.

The center was established by a group of Chinese agriculture technicians at the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) in Suakoko, Bong County.

It is intended to help improve the Liberia’s food sector.

Officially reopening the Center over the weekend, the Vice General Manager of the Lonpeng High-Tech, Kobe Zhang, said the company was committed to enhancing post-Liberia’s agriculture sector.

Mr. Kobe Zhang said the abrupt closure of the center was due to the outbreak of the devastating Ebola Virus Disease in Liberia in 2014.

He made the statement recently when he proxied for the Lonpeng Tech-Demonstration Center’s General Manager, Fang Yuanxiang,
at programs marking the center’s official re-opening in Suakoko District, Bong County.

Mr. Kobe Zhang noted that presently they are cultivating almost four acres of low and upland lands at the Kpatawee Water Fall in Bong County.

Welcoming the Management of the Chinese-run demonstration center back to the District, CARI’s Interim Team Leader, Aaron Marshall, said the Institute stands ready to work along with the Chinese for an improved agricultural system.
