Twelve MRU Rep. in social, environmental training

(elbcradio.com/Oct. 7, 2015)-Twelve Social Safeguard and Environmental Assistants from Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are in Abidjan undergoing a two-day training workshop.

The training workshop, organized by the management of TRANSCO CLSG, commenced recently and ended Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the Ivorian Capital.

The Capacity-Building workshop focuses on the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management Plan and on the Right of Way of the CLSG project.

According to a release, the training workshop is being jointly conducted by the TRANSCO CLSG Team, headed by its Project Implementation Unit Director, Etienne Bailey, and donors.

Participants include one Environmental Assistant and two Social Safeguard Assistants from each CLSG countries.

The workshop is intended to train the Environmental and Social Safeguard Assistants to enable them understand the process to help them coordinate the activities of the environmental and social component.

Lessons learned from the workshop will also enable them to work closely with other key stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the projec.
