(elbcradio.com/Oct. 8,2015)-The national football team of Liberia, the Lone Star was Thursday afternoon forced to a 1-1 draw by visiting Guinea Bissau in the first leg of the Fifa 2018 World preliminaries at the ATS in Monrovia.

William Jebo who plays his club football in the Spanish second division scored the lone goal for Liberia in the 35th minute from the penalty

spot after Patrick Gerhardt was fouled by Sambinha. That goal came after several misses from Grandpa Doe.

The Guinea Bissau side came out the strongest in the second half, as they pushed for an equalizer which they got in the 63rd minute.
Amindo took advantage of a goalkeeping error by Saylee Swen, to head in to level the score at 1-1.

The Lone Star must score a 2-2 draw or pick up a win in the return leg on Tuesday October 13, 2015 in Bissau, or a goalless draw will give Guinea Bissau the advantage to advance to the next round.

The winner in the two legged fixture will play Ivory Coast in November in the next round of the 2018 Fifa World Cup Preliminaries.
