Grenade attack kills one, injures 7 in Burundi

from BBC

Police in Burundi say one person was killed and seven others injured after a grenade attack on a bar.

The grenade attack took place Sunday night, October 25, 2015 in the Burundian Capital, Bujumbura. The bar, located in Kamange District, is owned by a senior figure of the ruling CNDD-FDD Party.

The BBC says four people, including one police man, were also killed Saturday in the southern part of the city. There has been a wave of unexplained killings, both of opposition activists and security forces, since April.

The killings followed President Pierre Nkurunziza’s decision to run for a third term in office. He comfortably won the election held in July.
