(elbcradio.com/Oct. 29, 2015)-The Liberian Government has underscored the need for sustainable solid waste management system in the country.

According to Deputy Internal Affairs Minister for Urban Affairs, Stephen Neufville, organizing sustainable solid waste management system will ensure proper disposal of wastes generated across Liberia and will curtail indiscriminate solid waste disposal.

Deputy Minister Neufville made the statement Tuesday, October 28, 2015 at the start of a National Solid Waste Management Policy Validation in Bentol City, Montserrado County.

“With the growing population of urban cities across Liberia, waste collection cannot be done as usual,” he said.

The Deputy Internal Affairs Minister then recommended the enactment of a law to ensure the cooperation and involvement of the citizenry in the management of solid wastes.
