Liberian Journalist Wiagbe dies at 50

(elbcradio.com/Oct. 30, 2015)-Veteran journalist and Senior Reporter of the Liberia News Agency (LINA), Vasco Wiagbe, is died.

According to family sources, Mr. Wiagbe died recently at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Mr. Wiagbe, 50, accumulated more than 30 years of experience in active journalism in Liberia and served in various editorial capacities at several media institutions in the country.

He started his journalism career at the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in the early 1980s and worked there up to the outbreak of the civil conflict.

After LINA, The late Wiagbe several at Star Radio (now defund), Women Democracy Radio, In-Profile Daily Newspaper, among others, and later rejoined LINA under its current Rehabilitation Project.

Meanwhile, scores of journalists and other sympathizers at home and abroad have flooded the social media with sentiments of memories of their professional and personal interactions with the Liberian Journalist, prior to his death.
