Aspen launches first Liberia-based medical aircraft

(elbcradio.com/Nov. 6, 2015)-The first Medical Aircraft to serve the West African Sub-Region  and to be based in Liberia has been launched in the country.

The ASPEN Medical Aircraft will take patients from Liberia to other parts of West Africa. The Beach Craft 900C is owned and operated by Aspen Medical International, having health facilities present in Africa, including Liberia.

The Regional Manager for Aspen Medical-Liberia, Steve Guiney, made the statement recently at the Aircraft’s official launch at the James Spriggs Payne Airfield in Monrovia.

Mr. Guiney emphasized that the plane will provide patients fast medical evacuation service saying: “Though Aircraft will serve other countries of the region, Liberians stand to be the primary beneficiaries, simply because it is based in the country.”

Also speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of the Liberia Airport Authority, Wil Bako Freeman, commended Aspen Medical for the world-class service it has provided Liberians.

Mr. Freeman said the Aircraft’s launch further explains the confidence is continuously commanding at the international level.

He also spoke of plans to improve the Roberts International Airport and the James Spriggs Payne Airport to attract more improve services.
