(elbcradio.com/Dec. 9, 2015)-Liberian President,Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has expressed satisfaction over Liberia-U.S relations for level support to the country.

President Sirleaf made specific reference to the U.S Government’s enormous contributions to Liberia, particularly during the tenure of its outgoing Ambassador, Deborah Malac.

The Liberian Leader said: “Ambassador Malac did not only support Liberia’s over-all development but has also been a part of the process, citing the political goodwill accrued in Liberia-U.S relations during her three years of duty in the country.”

She recounted the outgoing U.S Ambassador’s proactive role in attracting more U.S support for Liberia during the Ebla fight and her personal involvement in supporting community-based youth empowerment initiatives.

President Sirleaf made the assertions Tuesday at her Foreign Ministry Office at a farewell ceremony held in honor of the outgoing U.S Ambassador in Monrovia.

Responding, Ambassador Malac thanked the Government and People of Liberia for the demonstration of high hospitality they accorded her.

Ambassador Malac said: “Liberians have the ability to overcome the social, economic, political and security challenges to move their country forward.”

Meanwhile, diplomatic sources told elbcradio.com that Ambassador Malac is expected to take up new assignment in the Ugandan capital, Kampala following her successful mission in Liberia.
