LRAs Tamba calls for responsible governance structure

(ekbcradio.com/Dec. 11, 2015)-Liberians have been challenged to cultivate a renewed sense of responsibility characterized by transparency and accountability in the governance process of the country.

The Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Alfreda Stewart-Tamba, said:” Transparency and accountability are essential components in fighting corruption.”

Madam Tamba said: “Dishonesty and insincerity are tendencies associated with the perpetration of corruption in both the public and private sectors of Liberia.”

“Public officials, business executives and their subordinates must now begin to adhere to transparent and accountable norms at their respective work places,” she emphasized..

The LRA Commissioner General spoke Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at programs marking the commemoration of Anti-Corruption Day at the Centennial Pavilion in Monrovia.

Madam Tamba cautioned Liberians to fight bribery and report corruption cases to prevent the menace in society.

Liberia joined other nations of the world Wednesday, December 9, 2015 to celebrate World Anti-Corruption Day.

December 9 each of year is being observed as World Anti- Corruption Day to create awareness on the dangers of the menace.
