Liberia must be developed by Liberians...VP Boakai

(elbcradio.com/Dec. 14,  2015)-Vice President, Joseph Boakai, says community engagement is vital to fast tracking national development and sustained economic growth in Liberia.

Vice President Boakai said:” Despite international goodwill support towards Liberia’s transformation, Liberians must take the lead in the development of the country.”

The Vice President spoke Saturday, December 12, 2015 when he delivered the Commencement Convocation of the Nimba Community College in Sanniquellie.

Vice President Boakai urged the graduates to utilize the knowledge acquired to contribute to nation building.

“Venture into meaningful activities that will positively impact the lives of community dwellers and serve as good ambassadors for your institution,” the Vice President noted.

In remarks, the President of the Nimba Community College, Dr. Yar Doniah Gonway-Gono, has spoken of plans to elevate the college to a BSC level.

Dr. Gonway-Gono called on the citizens of Nimba to rally support for the growth and advancement of the College.

She said:” The philosophy of the College is to provide quality education at all time in line Government’s reform process.”
During the program, one hundred sixty-seven students received Associate Degrees in several disciplines.
