Central Bank dedicates two banks in Lofa County

(elbcradio.com/Dec. 14, 2015)-The Central Bank of Liberia has dedicated two community banks in Zorzor and Kolahum Districts in Lofa County.

The initiative is part of the bank’s plan to decentralize banking activities across Liberia.

Speaking at the dedication, CBL Executive Governor, Mills Jones, called on Lofa citizens to utilize the two community banking facilities.

Dr. Jones said:” The program is intended for the community dwellers to have access to banking facilities.

“The residents of Zorzor, Kolahum, Salayea and other surrounding towns must take advantage of this worthy cause by saving their money at the two facilities,” he emphasized.

Responding, the residents of Zorzor and Kolahum commended Central Bank of Liberia for dedicating the two banks.

They said the dedication of the banks will increase their access to banking services for rural dwellers.

In another development, the CBL Executive Governor says the formulation of good policies is essential to the development of Liberia.Dr. Jones said:” When policies are formulated and fully implemented, the development of Liberia is assured.”

” Such policies will help Government and other stakeholders make decisions that will positively impact the lives of the Liberian people,” he said.

The CBL Executive Governor spoke recently in Lofa County the Village Saving LoanAssociation honored him for transforming lives of rural dwellers.

Dr. Jones called on the people of Lofa to work together for the development of their county.
