(elbcradio.com/Dec. 15, 2015)-The Government of Liberia has issued Executive Order Number74, developing the Liberia National Trade Policy (LNTP).

The Policy is intended to reduce poverty and addressissues affecting women and children, as well as vulnerable communities.

An Executive Mansion release says President Sirleaf issued the Executive Order recently to reintegrate Liberia into the international economy and trade systems.

The release also quotes the Liberian Leader as saying: “The Policy will serve as an engine of growth to promote the domestic private sector of the country.”

Executive Order Number 74 was signed on December 10, 2015 by President Sirleaf in line with Constitutional provision.

Under the Executive Order, Liberia is to implement the LNTP in line with its Post Accession Plan of 2016-2017.

Currently, Liberia is in the process of acceding to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and has made commitment to WTO Membership to be implemented by the Post Accession Plan.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce is charged with the oversight to coordinate the implementation process in partnership with other trade-related organizations.
