(elbcradio.com/Dec. 17, 2015)-The residents of Barnersville, Caldwell and New Georgia Communities in Montserrado County are to benefit from paved roads soon.

As part of effort to jump-start the road projects, the Liberian Government broke grounds Wednesday, December 16, 2015 for the pavement of the Barnesville, Caldwell and New Georgia Roads.

The pending Road Projects, when implemented, will ease the traffic situation in those communities.

The beneficiary communities are located in Southwest of the Liberian capital, Monrovia.

The initiative is also intended to transform the current poor road network in Barnesville, Kerbeh, Dixville, Caldwell and New Georgia.

The projects, valued over 12million United States dollars, will be implemented by the Chinese International Construction Company (CICO).

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, the Acting Head of the Cabinet, Defense Minister, Brownie Samukai, said: “The essence of the initiative is to connect urban and rural communities by paved roads.”

“Government and partners have invested more resources in the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of roads over the years,” Minister Samukai said.
