National County Meet continues Sunday, January 3

(elbcradio.com/Dec. 31, 2015)-The 2015/2016 County Meet will continue Sunday, January 2, 2016 with the Quarter Finals kicking off at the ATS in Central Monrovia.

The Quarter Finals start with Bong County taking on Maryland County. According to reports, both counties are said to be in high spirit for the match.

The County Meet started a month ago with the fifteen counties participating. Following the Preliminary Rounds of the tournament across the country, eight counties made it to the Quarter Finals.

It continues Monday, January 4, 2016 with Defending Champions, Grand Bassa County, to face Nimba County at the ATS.

It can be recalled that Grand Bassa County defeated Nimba County 2 – 1 at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville to lift the trophy in 2012.
At the same time, Grand Bassa is the only county that completed the 2015 National County Meet’s preliminary rounds and made it to the Quarter Finals of the four sporting disciplines.

National County Meet Defending Champions reached the Quarter Finals in Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Kickball, following a couple of wins in their last group matches Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

Other counties that made it to the Quarter Finals in Basketball including Nimba, Bomi, Sinoe, Margibi, Gbarpolu, Grand Gedeh and Lofa.

The Defending Basketball Champions will face Bomi County in the Quarter Finals. Grand Cape Mount County will face Sinoe County, Grand Gedeh County vs Gbarpolu County and Nimba County to go against Lofa County.
