LBDI commits $US10, 000 towards youth development

(www.elbcradio.com/Jan. 5, 2016)-The Management of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI) has pledged its continued support to the development of Liberian students.

LBDI President, John Davis, said: “The bank and its Board of Directors remain committed to supporting meaningful programs aimed at developing the skills of Liberian students to boost the country’s education sector.”

Mr. Davis made the commitment Monday, January 4, 2016 when LBDI donated ten thousand United States Dollars to the Liberia Media for Democratic Initiative (LMDI) towards its National Students Quizzing Program.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the LBDI President said: “The move is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility to support initiatives that greatly impacting the young people.”

In remarks, the Executive Director of  the Liberia Media for Democratic Initiative (LMDI), John Kollie, expressed gratitude to the LBDI Management and described the bank’s gesture as a surprise.

Mr. Kollie said: “I am impressed that the bank had taken interest in the National Students Quizzing Program.”

“Though, we need one hundred eighty thousand United States Dollars to carry out the quizzing competition across Liberia, the bank’s contribution is a major boost to our program”, he said.
