Prez. Sirleaf extols National Legislature for hard work

(elbcradio.com/Jan. 11, 2016)-Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has expressed satisfaction over the cordiality and cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government.

President Sirleaf praised members of the National Legislature for continuously working in the interest of the Liberian people.
The Liberian Leader said: “Though members of National Legislature were on their annual break, they were also working in your respective constituencies.”

“They also used the opportunity to explain to their people major national issues that were deliberated during their last session,”” she said.

President Sirleaf spoke Monday, January 11, 2016 at program marking the official resumption of the 5th Session of the 53rd National Legislature IN Monrovia.

This followed the expiration of the Annual Break for the National Legislature in keeping with Constitutional provision.

By legislation, members of the National Legislature are accountable to the people whom they represent once every year.
