(elbcradio.com/Jan. 19, 2016)-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says the Governments of Liberia and Cote d’ Ivoire are committed to supporting the outcome of the chiefs and elders conference of the two countries.

President Johnson Sirleaf said she and her Ivorian counterpart, President Allassane Ouattara, held bilateral talks aimed at supporting and implementing the provisions of the Communiqué signed between the two Mano River leaders.

She said: “The traditional leaders stressed the need to continue holding such engagements to maintain peaceful co-existence for the mutual benefits of their respective governments.”

“The participants also expressed interest in working together to amicably resolve disputes that may arise on either side of the border,” the Liberian Leader said.

The President spoke Monday, January 18, 2016 in an interview with reporters upon arrival from the conference at the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

The Liberian Leader described the meeting as successful and thanked the participants, including authorities who helped in facilitating the forum.

The meeting was in continuation of the dialogue and consultations launched about three years ago in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.
