Decentralization Committee set up

(lbsonline/Liberia)-An Inter-ministerial Committee to steer the decentralization policy of Liberia has been set up.

Internal Affairs Minister, Blamo Nelson disclosed that efforts are being exerted to implement the implementation of the policy.

He said: “we have adopted best practices from Sierra Leone, and Rwanda for full implementation to decentralize Liberia”.

According to Minister Nelson, the essence of the decentralization policy is to include every Liberian in the governance structure of the nation.

“He said: “the root cause of past conflicts in the country was the exclusion of some Liberians from the governance process.”

Minister Nelson, praised President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for introducing political and social changes in Liberia.
