(elbcradio.com/Feb. 19, 2016) - Benin's Angelique Kidjo, has won the world’s best Music Album for the year 2016 at the 58th Grammy Annual Awards Ceremony.

This year’s Grammy was held on Monday, February 15, 2016" at the Staples Gate Center in Los Angeles, the United States.

Miss Kidjo, a New York-based singer, received the prestigious award for her Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg collaboration, Sings.

This is the third time in succession that she has won the Grammy Awards.

In her acceptance remarks, Kidjo, said: “I want to dedicate this Grammy to all the traditional musicians in Africa in my country and the young generation."

“The album is as an artistic challenge, as traditional African bands follow the lead of the soloist much more closely,” she noted.

Credible statistics from the music industry have revealed that Angelique Kidjo, affectionately called, Kidjo, is one of Africa’s most prominent musicians who had won “Music Award” for two consecutive years.

The album merges African songs and rhythms with European classical composition; a fusion she has repeatedly experimented in her productions.
