Liberia, China sign US$15m agreement

(lbsonline/Liberia)-The Republic of Liberia and the People Republic of China have signed a US$15m Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement.

The Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Zhao Jianhua said: “the amount is intended to fund the ministerial complex, the expansion of the Monrovia Vocational Training Center, and the construction of the annexes of the seat of Liberia’s National Legislature”.

According to an Executive Masson release, issued Thursday, 22nd  November 2012, the signing ceremony is an on-going process in the implementation of several development projects earmarked for implementation by the  Chinese government.

Foreign Minister, Augustine Ngafuan commended the government of the People Republic of China for the assistance, while Ambassador Jianhua expressed delight over the agreement.

He said:“ Liberia, under the administration of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has made significant and achievements in the face of recovery and reconstruction.

Foreign Minister, Augustine Ngafuan signed for Liberia, while Ambassador Jianhua signed on behalf of the government of China.
