President Sirleaf Dedicates Gbarnga-Ganta/Guinea Road

(elbcradio.com/March 7, 2016)- President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is calling on Liberians to take full ownership of the rehabilitated Gbarnga-Ganta/Guinea Road.

President Sirleaf made specific plead to the citizens of Bong and Nimba Counties to take the lead in appreciation of this national endeavor. She expressed satisfaction over the level of cooperation among MRU member states to enhance regional integration.

The Liberian Leader said: “I am gratified by the integration goals being set by Guinea and Liberia, for road connectivity and electrification.”

“The road will boost trade and economic activities for the mutual benefits for our respective governments and peoples,” the President emphasized.

President Sirleaf spoke Monday, March 7, 2016 when she officially dedicated the Gbarnga-Ganta- Guinea Border Road.

The official sod cutting ceremony to mark the dedication of the newly paved road.

 

She paid tribute to all stakeholders for their joint efforts in ensuring the implementation of the road pavement, noting that government cannot do it alone

The Liberian Chief Executive has pleaded with the National Legislature to ensure a non-stop commitment for road projects across the country. She also disclosed plans by government to shortly dedicate another project in New Kru Town

Meanwhile, thousands of jubilant citizens of Bong and Nimba Counties are commending the Liberian Government for the rehabilitation and pavement of the Gbarnga-Ganta to Guinea Road.

The citizens described the road project as a remarkable achievement of the government of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. They said: “We will now ply the route without any difficulties because we used to take two to three hours from Gbarnga to Ganta.”

“We can now take less than an hour to travel from Gbarnga to Ganta,” the Nimba and Bong citizens noted. They spoke to elbcradio.com during the dedication of the road project.
