Chief Justice Korkpor reiterates Liberias challenges

(elbcradio.com/Mar. 14, 2016)-Chief Justice, Francis Korkpor, says infrastructure and human resource development remain a challenge to Liberia.

Chief Justice Korkpor also said access to justice is being hindered by the long distances aggrieved people often have to cover to get to the courts in many areas.

He made the remark Monday, March 14, 2016 at the opening of the March Term of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

Justice Korkpor noted that the Supreme Court remains none align and will remain resolute in dispensing justice across the country.

The Chief Justice believes members of the Judicial Inquiry Commission and the Grievance and Ethics Committee for their tireless efforts in investigating complaints forwarded to them.

Also speaking at the Supreme Court’s March Term, Justice Minister, Benedict Sannor, said the Judiciary has contributed immensely to the sustenance of peace, while Liberia also plays major role in ensuring access to justice across the country.

Meanwhile, the President of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA), Moses Paegar, urged lawyers and law firms to scrupulously adhere to the court’s rules and admonished new lawyers to do same.
