( 21, 2016)-Outgoing Finance and Development Planning Minister, Amara Konneh, has vowed not to leave Liberia until his administration is fully audited.

Outgoing Minister Konneh said even after his exit from the Liberian Government, he will remain in the country until his stewardship is independently audited before taking up his new job at the World Bank’s Fragility Hub in Nairobi, Kenya.

Mr. Konneh made the statement at an appreciation program held in his honor at the Executive Pavilion in the Liberian Capital, Monrovia, over the weekend by a local group known as the “Friends of Amara Konneh.”

He announced at the program that audit was already ongoing at the Ministry, saying: “The move was necessary to prove my honesty and integrity upheld while in government.”

His public service career began in 2008 when he was first appointed Deputy Chief of Staff in President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf’s office at the Executive Mansion.

Prior to their merger, Minister Konneh headed the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs.

Following eight years of public service, Mr. Konneh is leaving government for his new portfolio the Kenyan Capital, Nairobi.

The young Liberian administrator attributed his public service achievements to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf saying: “If it were not for the opportunity she afforded me and her vision, I would not have impacted on lives and on the nation.
