Three BIN officers arrested in Grand Kru

(Grand Kru,Liberia)-Three  officers  of the Bureau of Immigration  and Naturalization (BIN) have been arrested in Grand Kru County undergoing investigation.

According to our Grand Kru County Correspondent, the BIN officers allegedly gashed a businessman, identified as Augustine Paye, after robbing him of LD$28,000.

The accused Immigration officers include Jackson Gaye, Benedict Farr and Janna Wesseh assigned at the Dweken Checkpoint. Our  correspondent said the BIN officers were   arrested in River Gee County Thursday with the victims’ bag containing the money.

They were arrested upon the order of the Immigration Commander in Grand Kru County, William Kortee.

He said three of the BIN officers are now in Police custody at the Fish Town Police Station in River Gee County undergoing investigation, while the victim, Augustine Paye, is being treated at a local hospital in Barclayville, Grand Kru County.

Our Correspondent quoted businessman Paye saying he was travelling to the CVI Gold Camp in Grand Gedeh County at about 12:AM ThursdayApril 14, 2015 when he was arrested by the BIN officers and ordered to give his bag containing the money, but he refused to do so.

According to Pays, two of the BIN officers took a cutlass and allegedly gashed him on his back, took the bag of money and escaped the scene.

The BIN Grand KRU County Commander has assured the citizens of Grand Kru County that everything will be done to bring the culprits to justice.
