MONROVIA, LIBERIA-About 80,000 customers are expected to benefit from electricity in Monrovia and its environs by the end of 2016.

Lands Mines and Energy Minister, Patrick Sendolo, said: “The Electricity project will be provided through an 18 HFO power plant to be commissioned April, 2016 by President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf”.

Minister Sendolo maintained that the power plant’s commissioning is a demonstration of fulfilment of President Johnson-Sirleaf’s ‘Small Light Today and Big Light Tomorrow’ promise to Liberians.

The Lands Mines and Energy Minister spook Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing in Monrovia.

“There is a vigorous street light project under way in the suburbs of   Monrovia and called on the private sector to partner with government in ensuring the success of the projects” Minister Sendolo said.

He also said: “The over 40,000 customers, currently benefitting from electricity supply, will be doubled when an ongoing test on the 18 HFO Power Plant is complete”.
