(lbsonline/Liberia)-Several passengers on board a vassal traveling from southeastern Liberia to Monrovia are said to be stranded on high sea.

Some of the passengers on board the Nossa Sehnora Da Graca S. Vicente told lbsonline via mobile phone that they were informed by crew members of the vessel that the management of the APM Terminal is allegedly refusing to grant them permit to dock at the Freeport.

“We are out of food and water, we are only surviving on dry farina and coconut, we have pregnant women and children on board the vessel”, a male passenger said.

He pointed out “one of the pregnant women is in labor, it is a dangerous incidence for the woman and her unborn child as no doctor is on the ship”.

The passengers want government prevails on the APM Terminal management to allow the ship dock or either sends a boat to rescue them from the risk they now face.

The vessel has for the past months been used as the main source of transportation to Sinoe and Maryland Counties due to bad roads leading to that part of the country. Efforts to contact authorities of the National Port Authority and the APM Terminal proved fruitless.
