MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The home of Grand Cape Mount County Senator, Varney Sherman, has been besieged by Police in connection with the ongoing Global Witness bribery scandal probe.

According to our reporter, investigators of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), in collaboration with officers of the Liberia National Police, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 begun effectuating the arrests of some individuals accused of being involved in the Global Witness bribery scandal.

The reports speak of some  partisans of the ruling Unity Party were seeing  obstructing justice by shielding Cllr. Sherman not be arrested.

A release quotes the Presidential Task Force as saying the arrests will continue until all individuals allegedly linked to the Global Witness Corruption report are brought before it to answer questions regarding the bribery allegation.

Prior to the arrest warrant, the Corporate Lawyer vowed last week that he will not appear before the Presidential Task Force, emphasizing that he will only appear in court for prosecution.

The probe is being conducted by the Presidential Task Force set up recently by President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, to investigate the authenticity of the matter.
