MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Liberia’s Justice Minister, Fredrick Cherue, says sustained peace and national security are crucial amidst UNMIL’s drawdown plan.

Minister Cherue said: “Strong collaboration and unity are important ingredients toward the sustenance of peace and achieving the ministry’s transformation, particularly on its national security plan.

“My vision for the Justice Ministry is to infuse new dynamism in building a vibrant entity of integrity and service delivery, “Minister Cherue emphasized.

Cllr. Cherue spoke Monday, May 30, 2016 when he officially took over as the new Justice Minister in Monrovia. He replaces Cllr. Benedict Sannoh who resigned from government sometime this year.

Minister Cherue was appointed recently by President Sirleaf and subsequently confirmed by the Liberian Senate in keeping with Constitutional provision.  Prior to his new portfolio, Cllr. Cherue served as River Gee County Senator during the first term of President Sirleaf.

He commended President Sirleaf for his preferment and promised to serve and justify the confidence reposed in him with commitment, dedication and responsibility.
