Civil Society Group honors Minister Nyenswah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Patriotic Consciousness Association (PACA) has honored Deputy Health Minister for Preventive Services, Tolbert Nyenswah, for his outstanding contributions to the Government and people of Liberia.

PACA National Executive Chairman, Frederick Baye, said the Association’s decision to honor Deputy Minister Nyenswah was based on his role in the fight against Ebola in Liberia.

Mr. Baye named the eradication of Enola and the establishment of Ebola Control Center in Liberia as some major achievements of Minister Nyenswah and the country at large. 

He said: “We are proud and grateful to state through this medium that you are a true patriot, dedicated and committed public servant whose contributions to the nation and its people in the health sector will not go unnoticed.”

“PACA will campaign against policy makers and politicians not to hold elective positions or be reelected if they undermine efforts by government and partners to support the health sector of the country,” Mr. Baye emphasized.

He made the statement recently when PACA honored Deputy Health Minister for Preventive Services, Tolbert Nyenswah at the Health Ministry.

The Patriotic Consciousness Association is a civil society group committed to advocacy, social justice, rule of law in the pursuit of democratic governance.

In his acceptance statement, Deputy Minister Nyenswah described his recognition as an excitement and a great honor not only for him alone but for the entire Health Ministry family.

Minister Nyenswah said: “The operations of the Health Ministry are public-service driven, sacrifice, dedication, commitment and integrity.”

“I would like to encourage young people to emulate the good examples of their colleagues in society if they must contribute meaningfully to nation building, “he noted.

Prior to his new portfolio, Minister Nyenswah joined the Ministry of Health as a Cadet, with wealth of experience for more than a decade now

In appreciation to his national service, the Government of Liberia conferred a prestigious honor on Minister Nyenswah for making Liberia the first West African country to defeat Ebola in the sub-region.

In 2015, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea were the worst –affected Ebola countries.

Currently, the three West African countries have been declared Ebola free by the World Health Organization (WHO).
