Amb. Sulunteh calls for unity, discloses political intent

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Liberia`s Ambassador to the United States, Jeremiah Sulunteh, wants Liberians unite to foster sustained economic growth and development.

Ambassador Sulunteh said: “Amidst international goodwill and assistance, the rebuilding of the country remains the sole responsibility of every citizen.”

“Agitation against the governance of Liberia has not proven to be the solution to moving the country forward,” he noted.

The Liberian envoy said: “Exerting personal sacrifice and pursuing positive initiatives amidst challenges are other alternative measures feasible to peaceful-co-existence."

Ambassador Sulunteh made the assertion Monday, June 27, 2016 when he spoke to www.elbcradio.com.

He noted: “Liberia can do likewise in the case with the United States where the people are busy, tackling personal matters and championing peace and unity.”

Meanwhile, ahead of the 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections, Ambassador Sulunteh disclosed that he will be a factor in the process.

During the 2005 Presidential and Legislative Elections, Ambassador Sulunteh ran on the ticket of the National Democratic Party of Liberia (NDPL) as Vice Presidential Candidate.

Sometime this year, Ambassador Sulunteh promised to resign his post to afford him ample time to prepared for the 2017 Polls.

Up to press time, the Liberian envoy has not mentioned the  specific positon he will be vying for, political analysts believe that he might be eying the Presidency.

Prior to his new portfolio, Ambassador Sulunteh served as Minister of Transport, Post and Telecommunications and Labor, respectively.
