Presidential Task Force reports progress on investigation

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Presidential Task Force on the Global Witness corruption allegation has announced significant progress in the ongoing investigation.

The Task Force is probing some current and former government officials allegedly linked to the bribery scandal.

The Task Force Head, Fonati Koffa, has revealed that the Task Force is poised to providing the real names of Big Boy 1 and 2 as indicted in the Global Witness corruption report.

Cllr. Kofa said: “There are more people indicted by Global Witness, as the Task Force vowed to increase the charges of three people implicated.

In a related development, Cllr. Kofa disclosed that a team of Liberian and Swiss layers has been set up to retrieve stolen assets from Liberia.

He noted:  “The Task Force has spent about 91 thousand United States Dollars in the investigation since its inception.”

The Presidential Task Force was constituted recently  President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf with a  90—day  period to prosecute all individuals, including current and former government officials implicated in the Global Witness Report.
