Mighty Barrolle, Gardnerville FC to clash Thursday

MONROVIA. LIBERIA– Reports say the Antoinette Tubman Stadium(ATS) in Monrovia will be the scene of soccer hostility between Mighty Barrolle and Gardnerville FC thisThursday,  7, 2016.

The game is part of the Liberia FA 2016 League Season.

It followed  a  two  -zero  victory  Barrolle  earned  over   Bendu  FC  Sunday, July 3, 2016   at  the Nancy B. Doe  Sports   Stadium   in  Kakata,  Margibi  County.

Sport analysts have described the match between Gardnerville FC and the Rollers as a "do or die" battle.

Mighty Barrolle Secretary General,   Ivan Browne, said: “The team will exert efforts in the game to collect the three points."

”“I am of the conviction that Barrolle will take the day though Gardnerville is also a force to reckon with,” he noted. 

The  LFA rescheduled  the  game from  Wednesday to Thursday, July 6, 2016  due to   the engagement  of  the  ATS   by  the National  Muslim Council  of Liberia  to  mark  the  end  of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Mighty Barrolle President,  Eugene Nagbe,   ,  has  promised  to  take  the  Rollers  back  to  the  First  Division. Mr  Nagbe  who  is  also  Minister  of  Information, said: “ My administration  will  stand  behind  the  team  to achieve  its  goal.”

The  Rollers  are  fifth  on  the  league  table  just  behind  Holder  FC.

The pending match is the  third  season the  Rollers  are  playing  in  the  second  tier  of Liberian  football.

At the same time, players  of  the  team(Barrolle)  said: “We are tired  of  playing  in  that  division  and are  ready to  move  back  to  the  First  Division.“We are committed to our Association and will support the administration of President Nagbe to move the team forward,. “ they said.

In a related development, NPA Anchors will play Mighty Dragons of Bong County in the second encounter. Reports  say  the Gbarnga  based  squad  which  is  threatened  by  regelation,  is  poised  to  fight  and  save  face   against  the  Anchors.

Dragons  were defeated   in  Gbarnga last  Sunday  by   runaway champion,  Barracks  Young Controllers  with  a  score  of  2  goals  to  one . The team got promotion to the First Division a season ago, but has been struggling to maintain its status.

It is  the  only  team  from  Bong  County  participating  in  the  ongoing  L FA  National   League. Meanwhile,  the  league  continues  this  weekend  across  the  country  with   more exciting  matches.
