George Weah calls for economic reconciliation

(lbsonline/Liberia)- The newly appointed ambassador for peace in Liberia, Ambassador George Weah has signaled a call for government to use its political will to fully support the initiative of peace and reconciliation.

The political leader of Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), Mr. Weah said, “One surest way of government achieving genuine reconciliation is through social justice, equal opportunity and equitable distribution of the country’s wealth”

He underscored the need for an increased political participation by all Liberians in the decision making process of the country regardless of political, religious or ethnic
affiliations.

“I will collaborate with all Liberians to ensure the task given me is executed to the fullest”, he said.

The CDC first partisan is cautioning Liberians against putting their personal interest above the interest of the state.

He stressed that when every Liberian involves in ventures that will facilitate peace and reconciliation, the development of the country will be enhanced.

The political leader of the main opposition party in Liberia was recently appointed by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to lead Liberians to total peace and reconciliation.
